I Reject Your Reality and Substitute My Own

I guess it's time to come out of the closet and admit that I am an American Idol fan. There. Whew, I feel better. I haven't watched it every season. I watched last year and I watched this year. Maybe one or two other seasons as well.

But the finale to this season of American Idol is just unacceptable to me. I'm devastated. I love me some Adam Lambert. How is it even possible that the other little twirp even got into the finals? Not that the other guy (whose name I refuse to mention on my blog) was completely terrible or anything, but just nowhere near the singing genius of Adam.

So, now that the rest of my day is officially ruined, I've decided to follow Adam Savage of Mythbusters advice and am pretending that it never happened. I will substitute my own ending to season 9. Ha! Take that, American Idol!

  1. I am so sorry that your fav didn't make it!!! Truly, I am, because whenever I pick a fav of pretty much anything they never are THE one at the end. I don't watch American Idol, though I LOVE music I've just never caught on, but my equivalent of that is So You Think You Can Dance! Yes, I said it. I was a dancer for the first 21 years of my life so that's how I justify it, ha ha! Back to YOUR show though, I didn't watch, but I have to say this is the first time so far that we disagree! (I know, I'm kind of sad about that.) I see why you like him, just singing style wise, I actually wanted the 3rd place and also just heard the first place sing A Capella and LOVED it. SORRY, I feel bad for even saying this on your blog! Do feel free to delete this comment from your blog if it's upsetting! But I still am TRULY sorry that it ruined your day; I do know how that feels with any favorite show or book or even sport. Just pretend it didn't happen; that your guy DID WIN! I like that way of handling it too. ;-)
Can we still be friends? I hope so!

  2. By the way, the picture you show of him here, is pretty HOT. I may have to retract my comment all together. LOL!

  3. Hahahaha! You crack me up! He is such a little goth cutie! He is into boys, I think...I absolutely love the little guy! I dont always watch Am Idol. I happened to this season and most of last season. I tend to watch once they've narrowed it down to the final group. I just think that Adam had a stonger voice and was much more creative. But, that's just me. I wont delete your comments. I will still love you. That's what the blog is all about! Honestly, I think he will have it better w/o being under the Am Idol contract anyhow. More freedom. He's the kind of artist that needs that. If only he'd been in his 20's in the 80's though!! Wow! I am such a nerd but I can totally rock out to some 80's hairbands. :)
And - I LOVE So You Think You Can Dance!!! Ah! I dont like EVERY reality show, haha, but do watch Dancing w/the Stars some and SYTYCD. Just narrowed it down to the top 20! I cant wait. The only problem w/good TV coming on is that now I am working out, but I dont get off work until 6:30 most nights. Argh. I am in desparate need of TiVo!

  4. I must not have "subscribed by email" to this post because I totally missed it, but I think we've caught up since then anyway. Ha! Thanks though for NOT deleting me. It's nice to be able to have opinions and still be friends, you know? So glad we're friends! :-)
And SYTYCD rocks; I've seen it EVERY season, but I danced since I was five until 20 so it's kind of ingrained in me. We're almost down to the top 10, yea!
I know what you mean about TV shows, I get addicted and have to watch them. And about the gym too; I've had lots of PT/gym workouts lately and am now going to start taking a class at the gym for 3-5 days a week so it's gonna be rough, but worth it! Also, we got the cheapest satellite plan just so I could have the DVR, it is soooo worth it! Go for it, LOL.
