Divine Reading

I finished The Dark Divine by Bree Despain, this weekend. And it was truly divine! I was a little surprised to find out exactly what the story was about. But that's a good thing. I love surprises and this one didn't disappoint!
I really had all sorts of things going through my mind as to what this story was about after having read the book jacket information. And from all those crazy dark places that my mind was going to, I came up with a new story idea of my own. Like I needed another one of those right now! Now my poor little brain doesn't know which story to concentrate on. I am bound and determined to finish my first novel this year. April will be two years - two years!! - that I've been working on it. I will be happy just to complete the full first draft and perhaps let it sit (before revising) while my mind works on all these other characters in my head.
Anywho, this is Bree's debut novel and it was a great way to start off my 2010! If you haven't already, definitely pick this one up.

  2. Wooot! Go 2010! We can do it! :)
I can't wait to really get to work on this newest idea of mine. I'm so excited about it! I've already gotten all sorts of things I've been jotting down and even a little research going. Eeek. I just hope I'm not SO excited that I lose focus on my first project.
I'm excited for you to read Hush, Hush and The Dark Divine to see what you think.

  3. Yes, wooooot, we can do it, yeay 2010! Sounds like you are off to a good start, that is excellent. We will keep each other in check. So, get writing! :) Notes are good so you don't forget and then write on the one your are already working on. Good plan. My first line of work is to get a chair for my desk because none of the ones we have are working for my back since surgery so I'm at our dining room table which isn't really working so well with the rest of the house (I'm out in the middle of our front room and I can't concentrate on diddly; and my cat comes up to the front door wanting in and he's and outdoor cat so it breaks my heart, ugh too many excuses, not enough writing). I am super excited to read Hush, Hush and I'm going to order Dark Divine this weekend! I have a guest blog post to work on this weekend that is due and I'm still getting over being sick so I have to devote most of my free energy to that first. I hope the rest of the near year is a healthy one for us both, full of lots of reading and writing & fun times!!! Let's keep each other focused so we get those first drafts turned into realities. Can't wait!

I know we've chatted about it since, but I popped on over to your blog to check for any new books and saw this post again and just had to commend you again for that. WOW!!!! Good read for sure. You are a good secret-keeper, lol. :)
